OUR VISION

Humanity’s Last
Personal Device

Privacy is a fundamental human need and right. And every voice AI device touting “the next computing interface” violates it with a microphone. A microphone cannot choose who to listen to. It takes everything. Your colleague mid-meeting. The person in front of you. That’s not cool. I hate it when people walk into a meeting with me with their note-taker on.

While working on building a health wearable as a weekend project, while I was still CEO at Eternal, we ended up making an engineering breakthrough. Which drove me back into the build mode full-time with Temple.

Introducing the world’s first roomdeaf voice AI companion.

Temple can hear the wearer without a microphone. We have motion sensors which read the vibrations your voice generates and converts it to text. I repeat – Temple doesn’t have a mic, but can still hear you.

A shout next to you never reaches the sensor. The room is silent to Temple. No mic. No camera. No screen. Temple collapses human-computer interaction into a roomdeaf interface, activated by a double tap. No need to pull out your phone. Things just get done.

The world doesn’t even have a term for an AI interface that can only listen to you.
So we had to invent one: roomdeaf audio.

Using it feels like nothing else. Double-tap your Temple, and a small buzz confirms it is listening. When you're done, another buzz tells you: done.

Temple is non-invasive and sticks to your temple using medical-grade tapes, called Grips, which are designed for 24x7 multi-day wear, through showers, swims, workouts, sleep, and everything in between. The device needs to be recharged once every week.

This unlocks a way of living none of us have imagined so far.

Temple never hears the room, so you can take it everywhere.

You can take it into boardrooms, and nobody ever has to ask you if it is recording. It physically cannot be. There’s no reason for you to take it off. You can double-tap it at a concert and whisper to it, and it will pick up your voice clearly. The noise never gets in. You don’t need to take it off while having sex. The person with you is never captured.

Never lose a thought.

Capture your world-changing ideas in the shower. And the thought that wakes you at 3am before it evaporates. If you are in SF, or wherever it’s legal to smoke up, you can stream your thoughts to Temple without getting distracted by the noise on your phone. You can tell it to remember birthdays, anniversaries, and things like “she mentioned wanting to visit Tokyo”. Saw a beautiful bag for your spouse in London while on a solo trip? Tell Temple to remind you to go to this store the next time you are there with them.

Log your life like never before.

Log tiny things like "had a headache today", "feeling dizzy", and years from now, all of this might help your doctor spot patterns neither of you would have remembered. Log your meals, your workouts, and little things that happen to you, without a phone. Temple connects the dots and surfaces insights for you, like never before.

Stay on top of everything.

Send a quick message to your loved ones saying “dinner is ready” without picking up your phone. Get a buzz on your temple when you receive a reply. You're at a party, and you meet Gia. Tell Temple to remind you to call her tomorrow morning. Set medication reminders. Tell it to buzz you to go home early tonight. The list is endless. And you don’t need a screen for any of this anymore.

The future of health, remains our north star.

Temple is located near the superficial temporal artery, and this location enables us to capture health and wellness signals like nothing else (did you read our HR accuracy study?). Temple already does everything that most of your other fitness trackers do – HR, HRV, Sleep, VO2max, and all the jingbang.

We are also working on things only Temple can do. Auto chewing detection for better calorie tracking. Snoring patterns. Sleep positions. How often your jaw clenches at 2am. Tracking Rapid Eye Movement (REM) for better sleep insights. Continuous core body temperature monitoring. Each one is a signal that predicts real outcomes years out. Wrist/finger wearables cannot see any of them. Temple reads them all day, every day, from one location.

I am excited about the new understanding of the human body that an instrument like this will unlock for humanity. We have a number of new research breakthroughs coming up (especially Entropy), and are validating them as we speak. Will share as and when we have updates.

Temple is building a biologically aware, no-screen AI companion.

And privacy is real at every layer, and the whole point. Your conversations are encrypted end to end; they never reach a model company, and even our team cannot read them. We can never sell your data for ads, because we cannot see your data.

Most personal devices demand your attention. Temple is designed to get out of the way. The future of human-computer interfaces is not a bigger or a dual screen. It has less interface, more awareness, and more signal.

Why companion and not assistant? Because we will not do shopping for you. We will only do things that are more natural for the form factor of Temple, and don’t require a screen.

Temple is a project, not a product.

If you buy Temple, you are joining a tech-forward project for the health-conscious, and scientifically curious. Temple will forever remain a project, driven by cutting-edge R&D, and keep evolving with our needs.

Humanity has not imagined living with a device like this before. I have only recently started to imagine what all changes with Temple. And I invite early adopters to imagine and build this whole new world with us. Where living with AI stops being intrusive and awkward. And we can take it along wherever we go.

Temple feels like science fiction happening now. I see Temple serving humanity in the space age. This is that form factor. It’s always with you, and it becomes an extension of you. Refer to some Black Mirror episodes for a comic-book reference on where this could go.

Temple 01, shipping early 2027 with both AI and health features, is just the start. I can’t wait to fast-forward to what Temple 20 looks like years from now.
